Iran and Qatar FMs Emphasize Regional Cooperation to Support Palestine
WANA (May 11) – The Iranian Foreign Minister met with the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister for discussions in Doha.
Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, during his visit to Doha.
Araghchi traveled to Doha to attend the Fourth Iran–Arab World Dialogue Conference and met with his Qatari counterpart on Saturday evening to discuss a range of issues.
During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The Iranian and Qatari foreign ministers also reviewed recent regional developments, particularly the humanitarian crisis in Gaza following two years of Israeli-led genocide and the continued blockade on food and medical aid. They stressed the importance of increased regional collaboration to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Araghchi also briefed the Qatari official on the latest developments regarding the ongoing indirect talks between Iran and the United States.
His visit to Doha included both bilateral meetings and participation in the fourth round of “Iran–Arab Dialogues,” held under the theme “Strong Relations, Shared Interests.”
The dialogue, organized by Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations and Qatar’s Al Jazeera Center for Studies, provides a platform for exchanging views with regional scholars and intellectuals to foster better understanding and cooperation between Iran and the Arab world. Araghchi also delivered a speech at the event.
